FERNWOOD RD
We seed-saved this one years ago from a prolific, semi-determinate plant that was literally covered in heavy bunches of uniform shiny red oval fruit with a delicate yellow blush on the stem end. No idea what it’s called, but it’s a great tomato! From a house on Fernwood Rd. in Victoria. Out of all our tomato varieties, this one ripens the best off the vine in the Fall and even keeps (if we haven’t scoffed them all!) until December. A prize of a jar of homemade jam to anyone who can tell us what its official name is! |

GRAHAM'S GOODKEEPER
Medium-sized, pretty red fruits with a slightly yellow blush. Fruit is excellent eaten fresh, frozen or in sauces. Gets its name from its ability to store well and ripen off the vine when you bring it in the house after the frosts begin. |

ZAPOTEC
A deeply ribbed large tomato that was originally grown by the Zapotec people of Central America. This indeterminite plant needs to have sturdy stakes to support the wait of it’s impressive fruit. A great tomato to stuff like a pepper and show off it’s shape. A late producer this plant needs to be situated where it can get plenty of heat and may need to be protected later in the season. |

SUPER MARMANDE
Semi-Bush (Semi-determinate). The favourite large-fruited tomato of Provence. Tomato Super Marmande is distinguished by its irregular cushion shape and touch of pink on the shoulders. Super Marmande is large, juicy, well flavoured fruit and a great improvement over an already excellent variety. |

AMISH PASTE
These lovely, firm, HEIRLOOM tomatoes can be up to 227g (8oz) each in small clusters on an indeterminate vine unlike most paste or sauce varieties. Deep red, slightly pointed fruits are perfect for salads and sandwiches because they’re not too juicy. They make thick sauces as well. |
 |
ARDWYNA
Large 4-5 in. irregular, slightly ribbed, and very striking-looking tomatoes. Thin-skinned with good fresh-eating flavour, meaty texture and few seeds. Huge yields of large tomatoes on sturdy, semi-determinate plants, which need good support. Potato- leafed variety. Some cracking, but only late in the season. Perfect for sauces, soups, and casseroles and for sandwiches. |
 |
FEDERLE
Plant produces good yields of jumbo 7 in. long red banana-shaped tomatoes. Tomato has full rich tomato flavour and very few seeds. Excellent processing type paste tomato for making paste and heavy sauces. Also good for making salsa. A beautiful indeterminate plant that is quite a conversation piece. This tomato has an unusual, drooping (and quite decorative!) growth habit so needs staking well. Great choice to mix in with the flower garden for architectural appeal..... |

SPECKLED ROMAN
You won’t ever see another Italian paste type tomato like this one! Stunning and unique, the long pointed red fruit have wavy golden stripes! A mid-sized fruit with very meaty flesh and sweet flavour. They also have very few seeds. A cross between Antique Roman and Banana Legs with oblong shaped fruit bearing the distinctive nipple end of the latter parent variety. An attractive and very meaty paste tomato produced on semi- indeterminate vines in mid-season. No two fruit are alike with an orange red colouring and erratic golden striations down it’s length. Plants tend to have droopy leaves making it appear sickly, though it’s a normal variation. |

RED ROMA
Just as the name says: a red coloured, roma type tomato! Meaty, with little juice, the classic tomato for Italian pasta sauces and cooking but also tasty for fresh eating. |
